My Sisters

My Sisters
The multi-faceted roles of a woman contribute to the entire person she becomes throughout life. She is a daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, and so much more. Her experiences lead her to learn and teach, to laugh and cry, and to not only share or silently witness her own joys and sorrows, but those of the ones she loves. Encircling her head is a crown of stars brought forth from a treasure trove of selflessness and strength. For only she brings to life what would not exist without her willingness to bear the burden with love and fortitude.
No matter her position in life, be she servant or queen, she is mighty not by her titles or riches, but by the inner strength of her heart and soul. She rules the world and remains a force for change in the name of every child only she can envision as her own. Because as part of the womanhood she shares, she cares for all God’s children as though they sprang forth from the love of one motherly womb. The combined force of my sisters’ voice draws attention from the farthest corners of existence, with a strength coursing through our veins in a unified rush of togetherness and purpose.
For together, we heal our broken hearts and embrace each other with love. Together, we share our strengths and weaknesses, always standing strong for one another. And although we may know the meaning of vulnerability, we do not bow to that which presents to press or put us down. No matter where we are, we remain connected as sisters, as women who will always overcome the world as one united front. Our indomitable will to survive, to change the unacceptable, to right the wrongs, and to see all children live in the light of love, hope and freedom, brings with it the promise to overcome whatever obstacles lie in our path.
Our true beauty, ethereal and unappreciated by those whose spirit leans heavily weighted by the world’s standards, remains unmarred and untouched by the hands of time and circumstance. Because the face of womanhood contains an untold number of others past, present and future whose inner light does not diminish despite intimidation or threat. We shine for a world of children in desperate need of our motherly love, strength, and guidance. We stand strong with the eternal word whose story starts and ends with the will to bring about a new beginning for all. And we will never rest until we see it done.
